Love getting my Passport stamped…

If you have a passport you know what I mean.

On July 3, 2006 my travel world opened up. Getting my first passport was incredibly exciting. Who knew at 42 my love of travel was about to explode. Since then I have been fortunate enough to be able to get a new destination stamped each year, sometime twice in one year. There is nothing like traveling abroad or taking a cruise and passing thru customs. I just love how the Customer Agents ask you a few questions, trying to see if you have something to hide.

Having a passport lets you travel with ease, especially when you cruise. Some cruises require a passport. An exception is when U.S. citizens are taking what is known as a "closed loop" cruise: sailing round-trip from one U.S. port and visiting at least one foreign country (such as from Miami to the Caribbean). For these cruises you can get away with a government-issued photo ID and birth certificate as proof of citizenship. Who wants to carry their original birth certificate or even your marriage certificate? Getting a passport is easier than ever.

There are many reasons you would want to have a passport in hand. Sometimes unexpected things happen while you are travelling and you may need to leave your cruise early, better to be prepared then unable to get back home.

Everyone, including infants, should have a passport. Applying for one is easy.
