Travel compatibility rating. What’s yours?

Over the years I have taken more trips then I can recall with family and friends. From sharing summer houses, to weekend cruises, from ski trips to European adventures, each group has had a different compatibility rating. If you have traveled with others you’ll know exactly what I am talking about.

I have developed what I like to call “Travel Compatibility rating.” The scale is 1 to 10, trust me no one is a 10; close, but there is always room for improvement. Some things to consider when rating travel companions can include, but not limited to….eating habits, drinking habits, entertainment needs, flexibility in plans, time conscientiousness and overall likability. You may notice that when you combine different people, their individual ratings may change. Someone may be a 7 when it’s just two couples, but add a third or even forth couple, and now their capability rating soars. Sometime the opposite occurs. A travel companion who rates an 8, may become a 6 when others join the trip

There are also certain venues that contribute to the Travel Compatibility rating. For me, cruising provides the best environment for traveling with others. There is always something for everyone. Even if you are one of those folks that has to get up early or likes to go to all the entertainment, being on a cruise gives everyone flexibility. You can always find a quiet corner to yourself or a piano bar to join friends in a sing along.

If you have one travel partner who is always seems to be on the same page as you, consider yourself lucky. I know I do.
