What's Your Favorite Part of Traveling?

What is your favorite part of traveling? Is it the planning, the organizing, the flight, the cruise, the actual destination?

There are so many components that go into travel for me it’s really hard to pin point just one favorite part. It all starts with an idea or a vision of where I can picture myself next. Relaxing poolside, touring countryside, taking a metro, or just sitting in a café enjoying people watching. From there the planning begins, the thrill of the hunt I call it. Finding the perfect destination to fill my vision. The destination in the end becomes my favorite part of travel.

It was two years ago I had a vision for my 50^th birthday, celebrating under the Tuscan Sun with my inner circle. Finding the perfect location was easy and now the planning and organizing is taking place. Clearly my favorite part, but my husband is doing the organizing with a little input from me. So in May 2014 I am certain my favorite part of travelling will be the destination.

My most recent vision is the Girls Getaway cruise. It’s something I look forward to each year. With this vision I would have to say the actual cruise is my most favorite part. Organizing the girls and handling the details takes some effort, but in the end so worth it. When you are on the deck at the Bon Voyage party, waving at the people on the land, you can’t help feeling giddy. Maybe it’s the drink of the day that’s got you smiling, or the sense of excitement for the weekend to come, but at that moment it becomes my favorite part of traveling.
